“I value what an active woman wants in a new shoe – what she desires from both a practical and poetic standpoint”, says fashion designer Chrissie Morris in describing the creative process that grounds the 3-year old company that bears her name.

Established in 2007, Chrissie Morris Limited combines an English design philosophy with Italian  craftsmanship   to   produce   artisanal   yet   progressive   luxury   footwear   for   women,   that   has   been described as “jewels for the feet”.

Since founding the company that bears her name, Morris has quietly collected industry accolades while her designs reach an ever-increasing consumer audience.  In June 2008, Vogue Italia’s juried competition for emerging talent, “Who’s On Next” awarded Morris the top prize for accessories and in December 2008, Morris received the Vivian Infantino award from Footwear News (Conde Nast US’ trade publication) for the year’s best new talent.

From an early age, Chrissie Morris showed an aptitude towards design, and arts and crafts, landing her first  job in the fashion industry, at fourteen, designing clothes, for  a  local   boutique in Nottingham, her hometown. Morris went on to earn her degree in Fashion Design from John Moores University in  Liverpool, where she focused her fashion research on Knitwear and Constructed Textiles, while furthering perfected her skill in drawing, painting and sculpture. In Milan, Morris earned a master’s degree in fashion design at Domus Academy (2001). It was in Italy where interest in leather and shoes was encouraged and nurtured.

Upon   returning   to   England, Morris worked with a group of designers in London’s   culturally thriving East End, creating sculptured leather accessories for celebrities and   designers. At the same time, Morris began her extensive research of the shoe making process around the district of Northampton. Soon after, her first shoe collection was developed and in 2002, Morris started private commissions of bespoke shoes. In 2003, Morris found herself in Spain, working prodigiously   for   a   private   label   shoe   manufacturer,   developing   a   vast   amount   of   prototypes   that were sold to many major international labels.

Four years later, she launched Chrissie Morris Limited. Today, the Chrissie Morris collections are stocked   by  some   of the finest retailers   worldwide   in   the following  countries:   Bahamas, Canada, Dominican   Republic,   England,   France,   Germany,   Hong   Kong,   Italy,   Japan,   Kingdom   of   Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Russia, South Korea, Turkey, Ukraine and United States.
